LUIZ RUFFATO

Luiz Ruffato – Born in a small town in Southeast Brazil, in 1961. He has published, among others, the novels Eles eram muitos cavalos, Inferno provisório, De mim já nem se lembra, Estive em Lisboa e lembrei de você, Flores artificiais, O verão tardio e O antigo futuro. His books have received national awards (Machado de Assis, APCA, and Jabuti) and international awards (Casa de las Américas in Cuba). He was a writer-in-residence at the University of Berkeley (USA) in 2012 and won the prizes Escritor Galego Universal (in Galiza, in 2015) and Hermann Hesse (in Germany, in 2016). His work is published in 15 countries.
